Every component is engineered to eliminate galling, prevent thermal binding, and guarantee bi-directional isolation in severe pipeline and plant services.
One-piece flexible wedge with central taper groove compensates for piping stress deflection and high thermal expansion, preventing mechanical wedge binding when the valve cools down.
Wedge seating faces and welded-in body seat rings are overlaid with cobalt-chromium Stellite alloy (minimum 1.6 mm thickness), delivering extreme resistance to erosion, wire-drawing, and galling.
Conical integral backseat seat machined directly on the bonnet underside isolates the stuffing box when the valve is in the full-open position, ensuring zero fugitive stem leakage.
For ASME Class 900 through 2500, the pressure-seal joint utilizes line fluid pressure to compress the flexible metal gasket against the body retainer ring, tightening the seal as pressure rises.
One-piece forged T-head stem with precision rolled ACME single or double lead threads. Stem-to-wedge connection is tested to withstand maximum actuator stall torque without deformation.
Factory equipped with integral boss drillings for MSS SP-45 bypass valves or upstream disc relief holes to alleviate hydrostatic lock and reduce valve opening operating torque.
Material pairing for stem, wedge seating faces, and seat rings according to API 600 Table 8 and process media compatibility.

Key engineering criteria to ensure correct selection, prevent line binding, and comply with international project specifications.
A solid wedge is completely rigid. When process temperatures fluctuate or piping loads apply bending moments to the valve body, a solid wedge is prone to thermal binding (seizing tight in the seat when cooled down). The TSV flexible wedge has a precision machined taper groove that allows the two seating discs to flex independently, accommodating thermal expansion differences and pipe deflections while maintaining tight bi-directional shut-off.
Bolted Bonnet designs rely on heavy studs to maintain gasket compression, which become extremely bulky, heavy, and susceptible to bolt relaxation at high temperatures above Class 600. The Pressure Seal Bonnet (PSB) design uses internal line pressure to energize a flexible metal/graphite sealing ring against the body wedge. As line pressure rises, the sealing force automatically increases, significantly reducing valve weight and ensuring leak-free performance on Class 900, 1500, and 2500 superheated steam and boiler feedwater headers.
API Trim 8 is the industry universal trim for oil, gas, and refinery service. It pairs an ASTM A182 F6a (13Cr) wedge surface with a Stellite 6 hardfaced body seat ring, preventing seat galling through differential hardness. API Trim 5 features full Stellite 6 hardfacing on BOTH the wedge seating faces and the body seat rings, making it mandatory for severe abrasive slurries, high-velocity throttling transitions, and high-temperature steam blowdown.
Yes. When installing large-bore gate valves (NPS 12" and larger) with horizontal stems, TSV adds reinforced stem guide tracks and heavy wedge support shoes to prevent stem sagging, asymmetric packing wear, and uneven seat contact. Please specify horizontal orientation on your project datasheet so our engineering team can incorporate appropriate internal guides.
